Response to: Powers of Ten by Charles and Ray Eames

Blending math, technology and art is one of my favorite things. For me, creating photos is as much about the technology as it is about the thought process. Everything must be balanced and having too much of one thing would throw off the natural balance. With that said, watching the Powers of Ten really puts life into a perspective that can throw off even the most basic of notions like size. As we “zoomed” out to larger powers of ten we saw the earth disappear. The massive planet we share with over 7 billion humans and countless other organisms. This reality check proved both just how insignificant our size is but then went on to zoom back in to subatomic size to show just how large we are. Realizations like these are what can help pave the way for new thinking and better shape the way we live.
